Update on recent problems

On monday the intercom system was fixed and now working.  The lift was fixed on tuesday after bringing in the lift manufacturers Jacksons. Why was this not done earlier? With regard to the stagnant water problem, although caretakers say this water was mopped up on a regular basis we have been assured by residents that no clean up was made until after our email to the top of Hounslow Homes was made. Our own regular checks also bears this out.

To top it all - now visitors in some towerblocks can't contact residents via the intercom.

The intercom system went down on sunday meanining visitors to at least three of the towerblocks were unable to contact residents to let them know they are there trying to gain entry. Even Carer's for sick residents were unable to gain entry by this method. Yet another reason for a concierge in each block.
How long before this is fixed ?

A Lift Left out of action for almost a week during the countdown to Christmas.

A lift reported out of action last monday is still out of action. Although an engineer called within 24hours of the report it was stated that he was unable to fix it and said a specialist needs to be called in. Surely a company that tenders for a contract to maintain lifts should employ SPECIALIST lift engineers, not just laborers. At this time of the year when residents are doing christmas shopping etc, one lift for 108 flats is ridiculous.Although Jacksons Lifts built these lifts as soon as the guarantee period was over Hounslow Homes seemed to think it a good idea to replace the maintenance contract with a company who seem to have no idea of how these lifts operate.
What's the chances of this lift being fixed before christmas ?

Stagnant water left in Tower Block for over a week by Hounslow Homes.

A report made to Hounslow Homes regarding a leak from a pipe in a tower block chute room has left stagnant water laying there since last Sunday morning. Although a Technical Inspector came out to look at this the stagnant water remains. On at least two occasions a request to ask cleaners or caretakers to at least mop up until such time a repair to unblock or rectify the situation, no such action has been undertaken. The stagnant water remains. There is an elderly lady and also very young children living on the floor. Has Hounslow Homes no thought for the health and welfare of its tenants ? apparently not.

Service Charges for Concierge

Do you live in one of the Tower Blocks that doesn't have in house concierge. ?
Do you use the concierge service provided at Easedale House ?
Do you think it is fair that you pay the same Service charge as residents of Easedale House ?
If you think, as we do - that the service charges should be spread across the whole of the estate then please contact your ward councillors and let them know your concerns. The ward councillors surgery is held at the Bridgelink  centre on the 4th saturday of the month 10am-12pm.
(because of Christmas coinsiding with the December dates the next surgery will be held in January.)

Get Involved in Your Estate - Become a Block Representitive.

Your residents association is looking for residents willing to act as Block Reps, where these don't already exist. 

The purpose of Block reps is to report communal repairs and ensure cleaners are carrying out their duties in a satisfactory way. Report ASB in and around your block.

Football Cage (adjacent to Langdale Centre)

We have today emailed Hounslow Homes regarding locking of the cage overnight.
Many Towerblock residents are kept awake in the early hours of the morning by youths using the cage during the night. We believe that Hounslow Homes should be made accountable for this anti-social behavior.
Pre Hounslow Homes this cage was locked by the Concierge staff. We suggest this should now be undertaken by the Wardens.
